Weekend Recap!

Hey hey hey! We made it through Monday. Mine was super busy, which is why I was missing yesterday. I had to get the blower motor in my Jeep fixed at 8am at the dealership that is 40 minutes away, so leaving the house before I've normally had breakfast was cool. Then I had to go to the orthodontist where I thankfully got out of there with only spending $150 on a retainer rather than my arm and leg on braces or Invisalign. Whew. THEN I had another doctors appt. What a Monday.

This weekend was pretty busy as well. Friday evening started out with a showing for one of my parents' best friend's moms. Those aren't fun, but this guy has been great to our family, even more so since my dad passed away so we wanted to be there for him. After that Danny and I had to get to a spring program for our niece and nephews. Its always fun to see all the little kids dressed up in their cute clothes. Love it. After the program we rushed to meet my mom, brother and his girlfriend at the mexican restaurant for dinner.

He said that if he knew this picture would be shared on social media (my moms FB to be exact) he would have smiled. He really does like to spend time with me... I think! ;)

Saturday was just as busy. I went and picked up McDonalds breakfast for my mom and I to enjoy while we watched General Hospital. We use to watch All My Children together nearly everyday so it was nice to lounge around and watch trashy soaps with her. We got ready for the funeral for the mom of our friend. It was a beautiful service full of laughter and funny memories. After the service I booked it to the hospital to visit Gram for a little bit. She got put back in the hospital early Wednesday morning for cellulitus again. I only got to stay for about 15 minutes but thats better than nothing I suppose. When I got home my mom and I met Danny's family at my niece and nephews' school, which is also where we go to church, for a chicken dinner.

After the dinner, my mom went back to her place and I lounged on the couch for the rest of the night, which was much needed after all the damn running around I had to do. Busy weekends make those 2 short days go by so quickly. And that makes me sad. :(

Sunday was pretty laid back after we got out grocery shopping done. Danny was a trooper pushing the cart through the aisles. He secretly enjoys going. I know this because he make racecar sounds up and down the aisles. This trip got a little wild as the racecar made some pretty fast turns and almost flipped a couple times. True story.

Hope you all had a great weekend too! :)

The Mystery Date

We made it to Friday! This week actually went by pretty quickly and I am so thankful for that.

I mentioned yesterday that Danny took me to an Indians game on a "Mystery Date" and that I would enlighten you on what the heck that is. I found the idea on the website The Nest. Before I discovered the blogging world, this website is where I wasted time at work spent some of my free time.  A married couple on there would blog about married couple things and Mystery Dates were something they did. I read it and decided Danny and I would benefit from something fun like this.

At the time, Danny was 2 months away from getting his life back from paramedic school (aka, hell). We had gotten into a routine of just going to dinner or watching movies at home. Thats fine and dandy, but being in our first year of marriage and without the responsibilities of parenthood (not to exclude Diesel, he can just be left at home unattended for a few hours), we knew we needed to enjoy ourselves.  This was perfect. Here is how it works:

- You plan a date for your spouse/significant other or vice versa.
- The only details the other person gets about the date are what time to be ready, how much of the day and/or night it will take, and what kind of clothes to wear. Thats it. He/She doesn't get to know where you are going or what you are doing.
- "Dinner and a movie" doesn't count. It has to be somewhat out of the box.
- You can either tell the other person in the car on the way to the date or keep each other waiting in suspense :)

To prevent delayed plans or scheduling conflicts, I picked out a week for every month that the dates could be scheduled during.  This helped because of Danny's work schedule and paramedic school clinicals being pretty sporadic.  Danny would tell me what day we were going and what time to be ready. He never understood the importance of the "what should I wear" question. Women need to know if they are going to be walking a lot, be taking lots of pictures, swimming, etc. Certain activities require certain clothing and accessories.

Here are some of the dates we went on:

Danny planned this one. Monday night trip to Ivanhoe's, an ice cream shop with pages and pages of sundae and shake flavors. We had only been to Ivanhoe's a couple of times because its about 30 minutes away. Going on a Monday was way out of the norm and a nice start to the week.
I really don't think we ate dinner prior to eating these, which is a good thing

I planned a trip of new places.  We had dinner at Firehouse Subs. Neither of us had eaten there before and I thought it was appropriate for my firefighter husband.  After dinner we went putt-putting at a place we hadn't been before.

Danny us tickets to an Indy Indians game.

Another date that I planned for us, but we had to cancel due to our niece's birthday, was a trip up north. We were going to hike, have a picnic, then eat dinner at a little mom&pop restaurant on the way home. I had to spill the beans since we weren't able to go.

The next date I planned was to a restaurant that was on Man vs. Food - Bub's Burgers in Carmel. We went there for lunch. This didn't go against the rule "dinner and a movie" because it was out of the box since the restaurant was on tv. :)

Shortly after that, we had to pause the mystery date. I can't wait to start it again though!

Hope you and your special someone try it out. Its a great way to mix it up and try something new. If you need date ideas, I'd be happy to help!

Bring Spring Back

Thursday! Ya know, I really do love Thursdays. I'm not sure why I have always felt this way about them. Maybe its because its Friday-eve? Grey's Anatomy and that normally being associated with Chinese food in high school or bdubbs with my gal pal Shelby in college... now in my old age of 23, ice cream. Either way, Thursdays are good in my book. Not as good as Friday, but right up there with them.

Indiana took a giant step into spring time last week and the week prior. Completely gorgeous weather. Where are we at now? Well, Indiana took about 5 steps BACK and its chilly. Its rained more in this week than it has all April I feel like and yesterday on my way back from a meeting in Indianapolis, I saw freakin snow. SNOW! Its April, damn near May and its snowing. No thank you, Mother Nature, you can have that back. Luckily it didn't stick and was gone as soon as it hit the ground, but still. And why wouldn't it snow or get cold again? Its not like I went ahead and cleaned out all of my winter clothes and put them away until mid-October. I haven't washed my North Face to put away yet, but I still refuse to wear it. It has a time period, just like Ugg boots. They will be worn between November 1st and February 28th(or 29th if its a leap year). Not a day sooner or later. Thats just how this girl rolls.

Because of the weather and my longing for that warmer weather, here are some things I'm looking forward too.

1. Indianapolis Indians games - The hubs took me to one last year on a Mystery Date (More on that tomorrow) and we had a blast. My "I don't like baseball" husband loved it and me being from the baseball/softball family that I am was smiling the whole time. I had never been before so it was a great time. My Valentine's Day gift this year was an Indians game, so now we just have to pick a game and go!
2. Our garden - Last year was a test run and we did great, considering the drought that we experienced in these parts. I love fresh veggies from the garden. Its so awesome to be able to walk out your door and grab a fresh tomato or cucumber to eat with your lunch. Or watermelon. I just hope our cucumbers come out a little more normal compared to last year. Like, how does that happen?
3. Cookouts - The hubs was a good sport last night and gave in to my "I want a grill" knowin full well it means he is going to be doing some more cooking. We can't wait to  have our friends over and hang out at our house. We love having get togethers and now that we have a grill, its going to be so much easier.
4. Flowers - Last year was also a test run for planting flowers and like I said, we had a drought here in Indiana. I turned all my attention to the garden rather than the flowers. Now I have a little bit more motivation to tend to flowers as this is our house and we want it to look great inside and out (though if you saw the inside right now you'd call "bullshit").
5. Fair week - For one whole week in July, my husband goes MIA. He loves the 4H fair. He was a 10 year member and as soon as he was done, it was time for our nephew to start showing animals. Danny helps out with the pig show every year also. If I want to see him during this week, I have to do it out there. I go to make sure he is hydrated (he struggles getting his own water for some reason) and the food is great. Who doesn't love fair food?

Those are just a handful of things that I am excited for. Now if Mother Nature would cooperate, I can get started enjoying 1-4.

Have a good Thursday!

I got nothin'

As I was getting ready this morning I asked myself what I was going to post about. Nothing, and I mean nothing came to mind. Then I remembered during college a bunch of questionnaires were floating around Facebook for people to fill out. I just did some digging and found this one. Its 50 random questions about yours truly. (I changed the wording, some even the whole question, to make them more applicable to the grown up world rather than the college world)

The pictures of my dad and me. It was his office and I've hardly changed anything.

2) Did you go to college? Where and what for?

The hubs does, so if the whole "whats yours is mine and whats mine is yours" thing applies, then yes I own guns

4) What flavor do you drink at sonic?
I believe they have a cherry limeade drink. I've been to Sonic a whole 2 times, but I'd be all over the cherry limeade drink.

not even a little bit

13) Ever been in a car wreck?

Orange Beach, AL

Hubbyless Weekend Recap

Freakin Monday is here already. And it has begun in true Monday fashion. I got halfway through making my breakfast.. egg beaters with turkey sausage and green peppers... like in the skillet getting scrambled. I noticed the egg beaters were... lumpy. I pulled the little carton out of the trash and read "Exp April 16 2013." F.

Back to the weekend.  Any weekend that starts off with one of these bad boys is bound to be great.
Two whole pounds of deliciousness. This sucker serves 20. My mother in law bought a few of these for a solar system project for my nephew and Danny and I said we wanted one. Since Danny was going to be gone this weekend, she brought me my own :) I managed to get through the weekend with only eating a piece every 12 hours or so lol. The rest of Friday consisted of Taco Bell for dinner because I have 0 will power, a nap on the couch from 730-8 while I watched the news coverage of the manhunt. I am so glad thats over, but probably not as glad as the residents of Boston and surrounding neighborhoods.

Saturday consisted of more spring cleaning, a quick trip to Target and then lunch with a few high school friends at the mexican place. I tend to go there a lot. :) Saturday night I went to Cheesecake Factory with my mom and my brother's girlfriend since my brother was on the fishing trip with Danny. It was worth every minute of the 1 hour 5 minute wait.

We had a great time stuffing our faces until we were miserable.

Yesterday consisted of more cleaning, a trip to the grocery store, a birthday party and a couple rice krispie treats. It was a pretty quiet day. Danny made it in around 8pm and I was so happy to see him. So was Diesel!

Theres a quick recap of the weekend. Hope you all had a weekend just as great as mine :)

A Hubbyless Weekend

Hey, hey, hey! (Anyone remember that from Little Nicky where the guy is "raising the roof" while he says it?)  If you stopped by from Holly or the link up yesterday and you decided to come back, bless your souls!

The hubs is going out of town this weekend. He got invited to go on a fishing trip in NW Ohio with some friends from paramedic school and he invited my brother to go with him. Awww. So, being the wannabe super wife that I am, I channeled my inner Betty Crocker and made some treats for them.
You're welcome boys. I fully expect Danny and Drew to eat them all by themselves on the way over and not share with everyone else. They're like that. They'll be back Sunday evening. I'm really excited for them. Danny works super hard and has a hard time with relaxing. Just not in his DNA. Drew also enjoys stuff like this. He talked about Danny's bachelor party for like a week after it was over, and all it was was sitting around a fire and drinking beer. Makes my heart smile.

I decided that since they are going to be having fun this weekend, I would set up a date with my mama and Drew's girlfriend. Cheesecake Factory anyone? Thats not even a real question. I just have to get through the day and night without eating that Taco Bell that I've been craving since I saw it on TV last night. I swear, if it weren't for TV commercials, I would be maybe just a little skinnier. They turn my tastebuds into demanding little shits.

Last night I posted these pics on Instagram (erinshell10) of my baby.

Is that pic on the left not the sweetest thing in the world? He had the cutest little belly when he was a puppy. Now that pic on the right? I was up late working on a scrapbook one night and not paying a bit of attention to him. It as 1 a.m. and he wanted to go to bed. He said screw the sectional couch in the living room and climbed up on the end table. Instead of being mad, I died laughing. I mean, he weighs like 55 pounds. Its not like he's a lap dog, not that the size of the dog makes it more acceptable to lay on small tables or anything.

If I don't start working now, it's going to be really difficult for me to leave here by 3 justbecauseIwanttoo. See what I mean? My desk is in a constant state of distress. I can tell you where every single thing is 95% of the time. The other 5% is when the phone is ringing, the scanner won't work and my cell phone is going off. It happens.

Have a good weekend!

Finish the Sentence: Volume 3

They're at it again with their hilarious link-ups that I can't get enough of.  Holly and Jake have more sentences for all of us to finish to the best of our ability.
button

1. I laughed so hard I cried when... Lily on Modern Family said f#*k at a wedding in front of an entire church full of people. There were tears streaming down my face and I would have had a six pack had I not been eating ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery while watching the episode.
2. My high school... class is coming up on 5 years since we graduated and some fools think we need to have a reunion. uh, no thank you. I consider every person who gets married between years 1 and 9 in charge of hosing reunions for those groups of friends who want to see each other. Call me when 10 rolls around and I'll plan that shit.
3. It really pisses me off... when Diesel wakes me up more than one time per night. One trip outside is acceptable but its when the little shit head whines enough to get me out of bed and moving towards the bedroom door so he can steal my spot in bed.
4. In ten years... I hope I'm a MILF. I know I'll have the M down, I just hope I have the body to earn the ILF.
5. If I could erase one thing... I got nothin.
6. In 1999... I was a 4th grader who looked like a freshman. Now I'm a full blown adult who looks like a 4th grader. No joke. People think Danny's my dad.
7. Honestly... if Friends and Will & Grace were played on a continuous loop, I could stay in my house for 7 days straight and do nothing but eat and watch tv. Sleeping would be my 3rd priority. I'd also send Diesel to my mom's for the week.
8. To me, Sushi... is an unknown territory. The closest sushi place is 45 minutes away, and no this doesn't count the Chinese buffets that are 20 minutes away. If you're into food poisoning then have at it.
9. Someone really needs to invent... if I had an answer for this I wouldn't be sitting here right now typing this. I'd be sitting on the beach that I flew to in my helicopter waiting on my next beverage.
10. The first time I drank alcohol... it was a fruity drink, that my dad made for me, the summer before my junior year... of high school.
11. The one question I would ask God is... why can't we choose a list of 10 foods and the calories, sugar, fat, and all that yummy stuff in all of them wouldn't matter to our health in the least bit. They'd be freebies. Just 10 is all I'm asking. I'd even consider 7.
12. Lindsay Lohan...  Justin Beiber and Amanda Bynes all need to be locked in a padded cell to see who comes out alive. My mom is on Lindsay. She's been doing the spiral out of control a lot longer than the other two.

Graffiti Run

Hello everyone! A special hello to any of you that hopped over from the link up, saw something you liked and decided to stay a while. That followers number is in the double digits now. I'm kind of a big deal now.

In between the plan for Sunday Funday changing on me on Sunday, I also changed on me when this happened.

So yeah, I committed myself to running a 5K on June 2nd with 2 girls I graduated high school with. One is my BFF since preschool, was in my wedding and I'm in her wedding in August. The other was my BFF senior year and didn't like Danny so things just kind of fizzled out. We're reconciling our differences (we were basically married in HS so thats an appropriate term) and what better way to do that than run around the state fair grounds getting corn starch thrown on you while huffing and puffing?

I plan on following the Couch25k plan, but here's the thing with that. The plan is 8 weeks and Erin's got 7 weeks to get these legs in running mode. Doesn't this sound familiar? Like my original 30 day shred issue and having to cram the sessions in? Now are you asking why I keep doing this to myself? Well I sure as hell am. Here is my solution to this problem. I'm just gonna skip over Week 1 and start on Week 2. My body does feel stronger having done the Shred (most of the way through) and I feel like I can run for 90 seconds. Thats absolutely possible. So there is that. Oh, and I also told my husband that I would run in the Tiger Trot with him, a 5K in our town. Its on June 15th. That also happened on Sunday. Before the brewery so I can't blame on the alcohol like Jamie Foxx.

Now on the agenda is find some white shorts that I don't have to spend a fortune on just to get colorful cornstarch thrown on them, a white tank (I might just make one from a tee with that tutorial on Pinterest, which is super easy) and lets go ahead and throw a whitehead band on the basketball resting on my neck and get all kinds of graffiti'ed. I splurged and bought the $5 shades when I signed up too. My eyes are taken care of.

And speaking of Graffiti..
There is a bridge just past the county line called Graffiti Bridge full of... graffiti. Danny wrote this the summer we started dating and its still there. Hasn't been written over, marked on.. nothing. Its been there almost 5 years, which is a long time for someone's "art" to go without being covered.

And I'm out of here.

Yearbook Link-up

I love me some link ups, espcially when they are HILARIOUS! And there is nothing more hilarious than school pictures, of yourself and others.

button

So let me introduce, Little Erin.

When I got these pictures out last night I thought there was no way there was only a year between those pictures. I feel like I look completely different! The only thing that stayed the same was my damn cheeks. My mom wrote second grade on the back of the one on the left, but nothing was on the back. Then I remembered I got braces at the end of third grade, so the next 3 school pics I was a metal mouth. Bringing me to the conclusion that it was in fact, third grade. And thank god the next 3 I was a metal mouth. I mean look at those pearly whites. They were soooooo crooked.

I couldn't find any pictures, other than sports, for grades 4-8. Your loss, not mine. :)

Now we will introduce High School Erin

I'm pretty sure that after seeing my Freshman school picture, I immediately started wearing make up. Last night when I got this picture out Danny looked at it and said "Thats so cute" while laughing at the same time.Well, Mr. Summers, lets not forget that the first time we dated was that same school year, so you obviously saw somethin ya liked. First thing I think of when I see that junior picture is "Holy Hair"  I could be topless under there for all anyone knew. Plus it looks like a wet dog on top. My curls are so hit or miss that I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to wear it curly. As you can see, the chubby cheeks followed me to high school. Thanks, Dad.

Senior year is when I really started to get my shit together.

I'm not sorry for the blurriness. I am lazy and didn't to take the time to actually scan this beauties. My senior pictures weren't bad. There were a few that the JOverman (I'll explain the "J" one day when I'm ready to explain my crazy messed up family.) chins and my dad's cheeks were the dominating features, but I can't complain too much.

Its fine if you laughed at pictures 1-4. I hardly let my mom put them on display in our house.

Our Sunday Funday

Hey all! We're at the beginning of another week. Hopefully this Monday is better than last since I had a horrible case of the Mondays.  However, this Monday I have to pay my taxes, yuck.

Yesterday was our day trip that we've had planned for a few weeks. The plan was to get up early, make the 2 hr 45 minute drive up there, and explore Amish country. We ate breakfast accordingly with the meal being just enough to hold us over because there was lots of cheese, bread, and peanut butter to be consumed.

About halfway into the drive it starts raining. Thats fine, not a big deal. It was a light sprinkle, we had jackets, and there were lots of shops that we were going to be in so the weather outside wasn't a big deal. A little bit after that Danny has the thought "I wonder if anything is open since its Sunday" I get on my phone to do some research, and not one place has store hours on it's website. We decide to keep driving. We were coming up on Shipshewana and it is dead. No cars, no lights anywhere, no people. Then we think, okay its only 11am, maybe stuff will open at noon. We keep driving around and end up in Michigan for a little bit. We headed back to Shipshewana and nothing has changed. So, FYI, the Amish operate like Hobby Lobby and Chik-Fil-A.

Since Danny took the day off, we didn't want to just go home. We headed back to Ft. Wayne where we decided we would spend some time before going home.  We walked around the mall and didn't buy a single thing. Shopping with Danny stresses me out. He follows like 3 inches behind me, around the whole store, not saying a word. We decided we'd eat somewhere we don't normally eat to keep the trip interesting.  We decided on Granite City Brewery.
. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The burger I had was delicous and Danny's beer was great! It was a light beer (I don't know what it was called) but it had lemon lime soda in it.  Mine is the one on the left and it wasn't bad, but Dannys was yummy. So yummy that it inspired our summer party. We're planning on making a version of the beer and we're going to try to make it into a slushy. I wanna throw some frozen cherries in, but we'll see.

The trip to see the Amish didn't go as planned, but we made the best of it. :)

And this happened on Saturday...
This year's 4H pigs that are kept at Danny's mom's house. We took Diesel down to the barn yesterday and he LOVED them.

Have a good Monday!!

Creature of Habit

I've always known that I am pretty predictable and like to follow a certain routine, even though I like to claim that I'm a pretty laid back, go with the flow individual. Thats not to say that I fly of the handle when the order that I want things to go gets screwed up. But I've noticed lately that I am only a semi-functioning human being if it gets out of whack. Prime example being this morning.

5:30 am my phone rings, full blast, from a Dayton, OH number. It was the alarm company calling me to tell me a glass breakage alarm went off at my office. Awesome. Long story short, it was a false alarm, our cop friend called Danny when we were halfway there (so like a whole 90 seconds into our drive) and we turned around and went home. At that point its 5:50 and theres no point in going back to bed. So I shower and Danny and I go to breakfast. We get home around 7:40 and my mind immediately says "Its to early to go to work, lets go take a nap." So, rather than using my extra 20 minutes to get laundry folded or do something constructive, I sleep. And just like that, I'm back on my leave for work at 10 after 8 and my day can start.

OCD, much Erin? Probably. Another good example:

The weekend is getting closer! I don't know why I'm so excited about it. Friday consists of date night which will include dinner then dropping a the equivalent of a couple car payments on shit for our house so we can be ready for the warm weather. (The hubs has a million and five things that he wants to work on) One of these purchases will include a grill, which is probably my most anticipated purchase. Not that I will be the one using it. I'm more the type to tell Danny what to make on it, get the food ready, then sit and drink a glass of wine or 3 while he works his magic. Saturday is probably the most dreaded of the weekend. I've got some serious spring cleaning to do, birthday party for my neice (this is not dreaded as there will be cakepops and/or cupcakes), pig sale for 4H, more cleaning, and more cleaning. Sunday is in fact going to be a Sunday Funday. We are going to a place in Northern IN called Shipshewana that is pretty much Amish country. There will be an abundance of Amish peanut butter and delicous cheeses and whats not to love about that. Yeah there will be shopping too but I'm most excited about the grub.

Now that my phone is ringing off the hook, I should probably start working. Have a good Thursday :)

So What Wednesday

Hey All!

I've seen this link up floatin' around a few blogs and I'm jumping in.  There are feelings, thoughts, actions that you don't really have a reason for. I find myself saying "whatever" to things and whatever = so what.

So what if...
- I've had a load of laundry in the dryer since Saturday thats been "freshened up" at least 4 times.
- I consider laundry that is dry and still in the dryer done.
- I ate 3 Reese Eggs Sunday night just to get them out of the house
- it takes me a good hour after I get to work to actually start working
- I woke up an hour late this morning. I'm the boss and I can be a little late to work :)
- our neices birthday party is at a dessert shop here in town and its going to be all I can think about until Saturday at 2pm.

In other news. I hung out with Jillian for a bit last night. We actually had a great time. I didn't wear my heart rate monitor so I'm not sure of what the calorie burn was, but I seriously think I got more out of it that I have been. There is no supporting evidence, but I felt sweat running down my face earlier in the work out and I even felt stronger. I don't know if this is because I took 2 days off, I wasn't racing against the number ticking away on my wrist, or if I just had the drive today. Whatever it is I'll take it. Eating without tracking is going super too. Its only day 2, but I've been responsible about it for 48 hours. One day at a time. No thats a lot... one meal and snack at a time.

Danny starts his 4 days off today and he is taking Sunday off, so he'll really have the next 6 days off. I can't wait to get some quality time with my man this week after the craziness that last week was. I really do love his work schedule. I feel a post about what its like to be a firefighters wife is on the horizon. :)

Have a good Wednesday. Friday is on its way :)

The Wall

I'll go ahead and spare you the pain that a whole recap of my weekend would bring. I didn't do shit except for go out to dinner with some of my girlfriends from high school, walk a few miles, and think about starting spring cleaning.
Dinner was delicious and it was my third time eating mexican that week. I'm not even slightly mad about it. Calories didn't exist with this meal. I didn't eat REALLY bad, I know I'm capable of worse, but whatever.

Anywho, I've hit a wall.  The plateau. The weeks that people who are trying to lose weight just don't. Its not that I'm mad or upset about the scale not moving, but I don't feel like my clothes are getting looser. I know they aren't going to if I keep stuffing my face with Reese eggs and drinking margaritas. But I'm losing steam. I didn't do Shred on Sunday (I walked 2.5 miles instead because it was B-E-A-U-TIFUL out!) and I didn't do it last night. I also walked yesterday, but the hubs and I were enjoying our first dinner out on our deck (he kept calling it a veranda like we don't live in Redneckville).

I've tried working out in the morning, I've tried not snacking as much, I've tried not eating bread, I've tried no cream in my coffee, I went without french fries for all of lent, I only drink wine occasionally...

The next thing I'm trying is taking a break from tracking my food and just wingin' this shit. I'm not sure I can be trusted, but we're gonna give it a shot. Its probably the worst thing I could try, but we'll see what happens. I'm also poppin that Shred dvd in tonight and spending some time with Jillian.

Here goes nothin'

Friends Week

This week has been nothing but go, go go for me. I really don't mind but boy am I ready for Friday night. My plans? Curl up on the couch and watch tv. All. Night. Long. Things have been nonstop since last Friday and I'm pretty worn out. I got a headache last night that had migraine potential. Since it was really the only night I had at home with Danny, I didn't force myself to do the Shred and tacked on an extra day. My original shred plan is definitely out of the equation now. Its fine though because I am still seeing results. My pants are tighter on my ass and looser in the waist, which is the goal. My butt is "perkier" as my Gram told me about a week ago. I even noticed that my shorts were a little tighter in the ass this morning while I worked out.  Things are happening people! I have hit a plateau and have been in it for about 2 weeks. The scale hasn't budged (other then up for a couple days after my Easter binge), but I'm not letting it get to me. But the scale brings me to my next point...I participated in Erin's DietBet and this plateau cost me $15. womp womp. Better luck next time. I enjoyed my Reese Eggs and other delicious food.

Back to this week being go go go. I was complaining to Danny a couple weeks ago that I haven't seen my friends in a while. I think in the last month I've seen one of my best friends a total of 2 times, which was for a quick lunch and a walk at the park. I need my girl time and I need it often. Well, all of a sudden I had plans a few groups of friends... all for the same week. Funny how life works that way.
  • Tuesday I had dinner at PF Changs with a couple sorority sisters. Originally it was going to be 5 of us so we could get together before one of them moved to Georgia at the end of the week. Well she bailed and another girl ended up having to work. The rest of us? We got PF Changs on the brain and wouldn't settle for eating anything less on Tuesday. I hoarded calories like a champ that day so I wouldn't be too far over my budget. I had Dynamite Shrimp and a small order of Spicy Green Beans. We shared lettuce wraps, which I only had 1 of. I made it out of there for 650 calories. Its not great, but at PF Changs, thats a success for me.
  • Today is my bff Shelby's birthday and she wants Mexican tonight. Again, the plan is to hoard calories again. I haven't decided if I'm going to let this be my cheat meal yet or not. Some nachos sound GREAT right now. We'll see. Here is the birthday girl. She is another sorority sister also and we've been in love ever since she joined the year after I did.

  •  Saturday night I have a date with my girls from high school. One of them recently moved to Ohio so we all try to get together when she is in town. I plan on doing nothing but laughing until my cheeks hurt Saturday night. I've been looking forward to this date with them for about a month. This one will probably be my cheat meal since its going to involve a few drinks. I can't wait.

So even though this week has been crazy busy, its been the good kind of crazy. I don't know what I'd do without these girls that I've seen/will see this week. They are incredibly supportive and I never have a bad time with them.
