24 weeks!

As expected, the holidays are making this part of my pregnancy fly by.

Baby size: corn - that is literally all my app says. Corn.
Any symptoms?  still feeling a little sick. heartburn is pretty routine at this point. I got a little dizzy on Sunday and I am blaming pregnancy. Short of breath easily.
Favorite part this week? Tucker loving on the baby
Least favorite part this week? feeling large
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Still testing out the 2. I think they are loved equally so this will be tough.

I'm starting to feel large. I think it is partly due to Thanksgiving and eating like it was my job, so hopefully by the end of the week I feel 6 months pregnant instead of 8. It doesn't help that I look 8 months pregnant though. This is 8 months pregnant with Tucker.

I have not been walking like I would like too or planned on. I really just have not been active this pregnancy and I'm starting to regret it. I know there were a couple of months were I really couldn't, but I've been able to walk for the last month and have twice. I'm going to TRY to get up early tomorrow morning and walk on our treadmill. We'll see how this goes when my alarm actually goes off at 5am.

We are getting pictures done tonight. Or I should say today since they are at 4:30 since it is dark by 6pm. Its a little early in pregnancy to be doing it, but I want to get family pictures, maternity pictures and Tucker's 3 year old pictures all done at the same time. Plus, I'm quickly approaching the point in pregnancy where I don't feel great about how I look so now is a great time.

That's it for this week. Maybe next week I'll have a preview of our pictures and a name!

Thanksgiving Weekend

My body is glad weekend is over. I ate and did way too much!

I took Wednesday off so I could go to a couple of appointments: hair and OB. We went dark this time. Real dark! It took a couple days for it to really grow on me but I'm starting to love it!

OB appointment went well. I had a feeling she would mention my impressive weight gain. By impressive I mean I think I've gained a ton so far. But she didn't. I love her. The rest of the day and evening was spent getting ready for Thanksgiving and hanging out with my Danny, Tucker and my mom. And resting up for the marathon.

Thanksgiving Day started at 5:40 am. Not because I had a turkey go prep or anything, but because that's what time Tucker got up. It allowed me to leisurely start the day though, which was nice since I was on my own except for the first stop since Danny had to work. I cooked my French toast casserole while I showered and got ready, then we headed off to Danny's mom's house for Stop #1 at 9am. Breakfast was delicious and Tucker had a great time. After a couple of hours there, we went home to rest before Stop #2 at 1pm at Danny's dad's, where I brought my famous dirt pudding for the occasion.  We had lots of laughs and ate way too much at this stop. We left around 3:30 so we could make a pumpkin dump cake for Stop #3 at 6. We got home and got to work. Tucker helped me with nearly every step and he did a pretty good job listening. I would tell him "don't pour until I tell you too" and he would say "okay tell me too" just about every time. Stop #3 was a lot of fun and Tucker had a great time playing with all of his cousins over there. Left not long after eating because I was just done. Solo parenting 3 Thanksgivings with a  toddler at 23 weeks pregnant was tough on this mama! We had a pretty great day though!

I was exhausted on Friday! We made a trip to CVS (the extent of our Black Friday shopping), made a couple desserts to take to Thanksgiving with my mom, brother and sister-in-law, and visited with some friends. We left for Thanksgiving at my mom's a little early so Tucker could get a nap in. We had a delicious meatloaf Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's per the request of my brother. He also requested a dessert that I made for 4th of July that was themed for that holiday. It's pretty delicious so I didn't mind making it.

Again, I was exhausted on Saturday and Tuck and I were on our own for the day since Danny had to work again. We went to Hobby Lobby to get some Christmas decorations and Target for some Christmas shopping. After a quick lunch at Burger King, we headed to a friend's new shop in town. She's been making homemade soaps and such for a few years and opened a store this weekend. It is adorable and smells heavenly! The rest of the day and night was spent relaxing, rearranging the mudroom and some more relaxing.

Sunday started off with church and was followed by a trip to see Moana with my nieces. I gave each of my 3 nieces a trip to the movies for Christmas last year and until yesterday, I had only taken 1 haha. I loved giving them that gift, but next year will be too difficult to do it again with a baby so I'm giving the older girls money and picked up an extra toy for the 7 year old. After the movie, I relaxed at home with my guys before we headed out to get our Christmas tree. We actually got the tree that I found! Danny unloads these trees when they make it to the place that sells them, so he thinks of himself as a Christmas tree expert and doesn't trust me to pick one out. But not this year! I spotted a perfect tree for our living room.

After it was loaded up we headed to Danny's grandpa's annual Christmas dinner. We ate (way too much again!), visited and headed home. I got kind of dizzy during dinner so I spent my night on the couch and crawled into bed at 8:30.

Like I said, it's a good thing this weekend is over! Next year will be a repeat but instead of a pregnancy (hopefully) I'll have a second kid to tote around!

23 weeks!

I can't believe it's already time for another one of these bumpdates! With the holidays here, I'm going to blink and I'll be doing my 3rd trimester bumpdates. Unbelievable!

Baby size: large mango
Any symptoms?  heartburn, pregnancy brain, sore boobs. The weak gag reflex is back and it's looking like the nausea might be too. Awesome, right?
Favorite part this week? Feeling kicks and wiggles on the outside
Least favorite part this week? the gagging
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Our list of 3 has been narrowed to 2, but we are 99% sure what Baby Goofy's name is!

I'm not too thrilled with the nausea being back. I had to get out of the shower this morning to get sick. Not fun first thing in the morning! I'm really hoping it cools its jets since there is a lot of eating to do Thursday! I was uncomfortably pregnant the last time I was pregnant during the holiday, so I was looking forward to eating with no regrets haha.

The pregnancy brain has been awesome. I started a load of laundry on Saturday morning and never got around to moving it to the dryer. So I washed it again Sunday morning. Late Sunday afternoon, okay so it was more like Sunday evening, when I went to move it to the dryer to start another load of laundry I noticed the clothes weren't wet. I thought maybe the washer was too full, so I took some out. As I was removing the clothes from the top, I noticed they smelled. Not like a mildew-y smell from sitting in the washer all day, but a sweat smell (they were Dannys). As I closed the lid to go tell Danny our 4 year old washer was broke, I noticed the setting was on "Drain & Spin" and that I had not actually washed the clothes either time I attempted to wash them. I shut the lid and went to bed.

That's it for this week! Hopefully next week I can reveal this girl's name!

Weekend Recap

This was a pretty productive weekend, which is always a positive the weekend before Thanksgiving!

I took Friday off work to take my mom to an appointment. She did really well, so I had the afternoon to myself. I FINALLY after 8 months, got the last crate for our shelves for the mudroom painted. Now it's up to Danny to finish the project. While I had some time to myself, I cleaned out some of Tucker's toys to donate to the hospital's peds floor and took a nap. That night, Danny, Tucker and I had family movie night. I think I went to bed shortly after Tucker did and so did Danny since he had to work. But not before these 2 picked out stuff  on the computer for their mini farm that Danny is building.

Saturday it was just Tuck and me. He slept until 7:30 and once he was up we went to a new shop in town to get a donut. After our donut we went home for some warmer coats and headed out to Wal-Mart to look at some toys so I know what to tell Santa to get Tucker... aka show him a $275 ride on tractor in hopes that it will work instead of the $400 fire truck. It was a success. We started getting decorations for Tucker's birthday and grabbed a couple Christmas presents while we were there. Minus a gift card and some cash, I have Christmas shopping for nieces and nephews DONE! We made a turkey puppet when we got home and confirmed that I would be a horrible preschool teacher.

We went over to my brothers to eat with him and my mom. Since Danny and I have yet to move out of my brother's house completely (the house I grew up in that Danny and I lived in for 2 years), Tucker played with some of Danny's legos. He had so much fun with them and played for nearly an hour by himself.

I could tell Tucker was tired when we were leaving, so we go pj's on and snuggled in the chair while we watched a movie. Tucker made it halfway through before falling asleep. He rarely falls asleep in my lap so I enjoyed every minute.

Sunday was a busy day. We had Christmas pictures with the cousins. We made it out without anyone crying so it was a success. Tucker was a total ham, which isn't a surprise at all.

He also couldn't look more like his Daddy if he tried!

The rest of the day was spent at a Lu La Roe party, helping a friend pack, visiting with my father-in-law and making dinner. By 6:30, I was wiped and could hardly move.

Now it's time for a short week and then the annual Thanksgiving marathon. Its my first solo Thanksgiving as a mom since Danny works Thanksgiving and I get to do it with an almost 3 year old while 23 weeks pregnant. Pray for me.

22 weeks!

I didn't do a bumpdate post last week due to my schedule being so busy. Tuesday was the day that my car battery died on me twice so that took a total of 3 hours of my time. Oh well! I'm in that beautiful window of time where there really isn't much going on anyway. My weight gain has slowed (thank you, Jesus) and the bump is just growing too. I'm not sure I would say I have more energy, but I do feel a bit more like myself these days.

Baby size: spaghetti squash
Any symptoms?  heartburn, pregnancy brain, sore boobs, headaches. My hands have started swelling. Riding in the car for anything more than 40ish minutes causes me to have to take my wedding ring off. Walking for 15 minutes also does the same. My back is killing me so that's fun.
Favorite part this week? Buying Baby Goofy all the clothes. Seriously.
Least favorite part this week? the back pain.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? We have a short list people and are testing them in everyday conversation! Sunday night Danny was all about talking names so I took advantage of it and we have a list of 3 potential first names.

As I mentioned, not much is happening right now. I'm slowly prepping. I've gone through Tucker's totes of clothes and pulled out what could be used for a girl. I found a pair of little camo pants that I think will look adorable with a pink or light yellow onesie. Of course all the firefighter pj's will be used and a few firefighter shirts too.

I also bought sheets for her mattress.  I'm not going to get too ambitious when it comes to decorating her room. We are in deep discussions about moving (just houses, not towns) and it would happen in the spring shortly after Baby Goofy arrives. Because of that, I'm just going to redo a dresser for her like I did Tucker and that might be it. I'll put stuff on the walls in the new house if we end up moving.

Progesterone shots are still going well.  I only have to go in for 2 more and then they can be done at home! One of the two left to do at the doctor is at the same time as my next appointment so I'll be there anyways.

That's all for this week!

Weekend Recap - Frankenmuth

Hi! I wasn't around last week. My mornings at work were busy. Definitely a good busy though! Except for the dead battery in a city 30 minutes away. It was even more busy since I was leaving for the weekend.

Friday morning I took off with Danny's mom and sister for our annual shopping weekend in Frankenmuth, Michigan. This was our 6th trip and my second being pregnant. This trip was much easier to handle than the last pregnant trip since I was 32 weeks pregnant on that one. Once we arrived in Frankenmuth/Birch Run, we stopped at the outlet mall first. We got our coupon books and hit a couple of stores. I don't think we bought anything during this couple of hours, which is unusual. We loaded up to go back to the hotel to eat dinner and have a couple of drinks before heading to Bronners. The bartender made me a Shirley Temple.

After drinking lemon-lime seltzer water for a year, Sierra Mist and Sprite are way too sweet! My main goal for Bronner's was an Elf on the Shelf. Tucker will be 3 in a few weeks so I think he'll have fun with it. I'm excited to see if I can pull this off every night!

Saturday was the big shopping day. We hit the outlet mall around 9:15 for the early bird special at Wilson Leather. I scored this awesome purse and a light grey wallet for $45 total. Its my favorite purchase for myself of the weekend.

With my stockpiled Old Navy rewards, I managed to get $315 worth of clothes for $50. All nieces and nephews got their clothes gift, I got a few transitional shirts for after Baby Goofy arrives, Danny got a 3/4 zip sweater (they are his fave) and Baby Goofy got some clothes. Tucker didn't get anything because a package from ON arrived for him last Tuesday with fall/winter clothes. Baby Goofy obviously got the most clothes this weekend. These little numbers being the cutest.

We are going to Orange Beach next October and she'll need bathing suits! I got each of these for about $6. Much cheaper than the $15-20 I would have to pay if I waited until summer to get them! I lost my credit card for a brief period of time. It was missing for approximately 5 hours before I noticed. About 3 minutes after I canceled it, we remembered my purse dumped over and it could easily be under the seat it the van. And it was.

Sunday we hit up the last section of the outlet mall that we needed. I got 6 shirts and 2 pairs of yoga pants from the maternity store. I am set on shirts to get me through the rest of this pregnancy I think. I MIGHT need another pair of pants, but I might be able to get by without.  Since my bump arrived much sooner this time, I have needed more clothes.  Plus I am going to be pregnant during more of the cold months this time. After a quick lunch we hit the road to go home. We got home around 6:30 and I was so excited to see my guys!

Now, the rest of my shopping will be done from the comfort of my desk chair!

20 Weeks

How did this "halfway point" get here so fast? I put that in ""'s because I'm betting on baby girl arriving at least a couple of weeks early. The fact that I am 20 weeks today is blowing my mind and reality is setting in that I need to get started on prepping for this baby sooner rather than later.

Baby size: small cantaloupe
Any symptoms?  Heartburn is here. My back is really starting to not handle being on my feet a lot, but that may be due to poor footwear choices. Those are the biggest pains. Of course Danny's biggest pain is the pregnancy brain but that's another post for another day.
Favorite part this week? finding out that Baby Goofy is a girl!
Least favorite part this week? swelling in the car Friday and then having to pee 3 times in the middle of the night from drinking water to help the swelling was not fun.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? So far I've found 2 or 3 that Danny is a fan of. I've rattled off no less than 100 names since Thursday. We'll come up with one sooner or later.

I have exercised a great amount of restraint over the last 5 days. Kohl's sent me a nice $15 reward this morning and some Carter's sets were on sale. As I was perusing the website trying to make my selections, I felt a kick. She's gonna be a shopper like her mama! The site wouldn't let me place my order so that's my first order of business once I'm done with this. Which is funny since I just told Danny on Saturday that I was trying to wait until my Michigan trip, which is next weekend, to start buying for her. I'm a big fat liar.

That's pretty much it. No real appointments until November 23rd, just progesterone shots on Thursdays until then.
