Charlee's 1st Birthday Party

Somehow my baby girl is turning ONE on Friday. I say this all the time, but I blinked and an entire year has gone by. We celebrated this big event yesterday!

I started off not having a theme and just a color scheme (bright colors, all of them) to match a tutu that Danny's sister bought before Charlee was born. But then as I began purchasing decorations, plates and napkins, it quickly morphed into a polka dot theme. Thanks, Hobby Lobby. It made getting the cake made pretty easy!

For food we did a macaroni and cheese/salad bar. Super duper easy! For the mac and cheese I used the party size platters of Stouffer's mac & cheese. Salad was a couple bags of lettuce and romaine blend. Toppings included: ham cubes, chicken, hot dogs, bacon bits, mini pepperonis, red and green peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. We had salsa and 3 kinds of salad dressing sitting out, as well as a bowl of fruit and some pickles (per the request of a friend). All the veggies I was able to chop up Saturday and then the meat toppings were warmed up prior to the party.

It was one of the easier parties I've thrown food wise.

Her cake was equally adorable and delicious!

Charlee got the cupcake and everyone else got the other 2 layers. We did chocolate and then confetti. Funfetti boxed cake is a personal favorite of mine, so my taste buds were pretty pleased with the professionally made funfetti cake.

The girl knew just what to do with the cupcake and went to town. Mostly on the icing like a true kid. I helped her smash the cake part after I took the icing away from her. She loved making a mess of that!

When it came time for presents, she got spoiled! Tons of clothes, just enough toys that she's happy and we don't feel overwhelmed by finding space for them, and plenty of money. Seriously, our kids rake it in every birthday. It's ridiculous. Tucker was also satisfied with the new toys she received too. He kept telling us Charlee told him she wanted to open each one.

For Tucker's first birthday, Danny and I made him a bear at  Build-A-Bear, Roger Theodore Bear, aka Roger T. Bear. Danny named him. We decided then that we would do that for each kid on their first birthday. We took Tucker with us to make Charlee's We were all 3 arguing for at least 10 minutes over what we wanted to make haha. Tucker wanted a My Little Pony (his current obsession), Danny wanted a unicorn and I really wanted a bear. A simple bear lol. We got none of those and got a puppy. Tucker had a lot of fun making his sister's puppy. We also let him pick out a new outfit for Roger since we wouldn't let him make his own animal. Tucker and Roger now have matching Paw Patrol jammies. This stage with Tucker can be so frustrating, but it's also so incredibly sweet.

I would say Charlee had a wonderful birthday party. She had so much fun with all of her family and some friends yesterday.

Recapping: March

Let's see how well I can remember life between March 14th and March 31st. Thank God for social media since the last few weeks of March felt like one long day.

We made a few outings those first few weeks after Charlee was born. Her weigh-in's at the hospital went so well. Getting out of the house helped and I think I cried happy tears when she ate almost 2 ounces at the second one when she was a week old. After Tucker's dramatic weight loss and first couple weeks home, this was the one part about having a new baby that I was really nervous about. Here she is at a week old. Sooooo tiny! It's already hard to believe she was just a teeny baby too small for newborn clothes.

Charlee and I watched a lot of tv. What else is new haha. Parks and Recreation, Gilmore Girls, and Boston Legal were all playing when Tucker wasn't home or awake. Danny's mom kept Tucker during the day like normal. We wanted to keep his routine pretty much the same since life as he knew it was different. I don't think he really cared though since he was obsessed with her.

I ventured out of the house with both kids. By myself! We all survived with minimal crying from Charlee.

After Tucker was born, I had a pilonidal cyst on my tailbone. It was my second one. I had one in high school that I had surgically removed, which is the best way to remove it with the smallest chance of recurrence. Well, apparently I'm just really lucky because I got another one after Charlee was born. Despite me trying to not put so much pressure on my tailbone, I just couldn't prevent it. I caught it early though. So early there was nothing the doctor at MedCheck would do besides prescribe an antibiotic. I spent the next week taking baths whenever possible (which was rare since by the time I got done feeding Charlee I had about 45 minutes to do anything), sitting on a heating pad, and taking probiotics and eating yogurt to prevent any thrush issues like I had with Tucker after I had the cyst. About 3 days before I was finished with my antibiotic, I got a rash all over my body. I was so itchy. It was keeping me awake at night more so than my newborn. How ridiculous is that? It was then I found out I was allergic to Keflex.

We also had pictures done of Tucker and Charlee. Charlee would not sleep so she is awake in nearly every single one. You can just see how much Tucker loves her. He is going to be the best big brother to her.

That was March. It was certainly eventful but boring at the same time haha.

37 weeks

If I had to bet money on whether or not I'd be writing this post, I would have lost the money. I cannot believe I am posting a 37 week bumpdate. Those shots were worth every penny since they did their job!

Baby size: swiss chard
Any symptoms?  everything boobs down hurts. BP is still in the normal range, but getting higher.
Favorite part this week? Making it through the week!
Least favorite part this week? The waiting game
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle

I just might make it to March! Originally I felt like this could be a long shot, but after the gestational diabetes diagnosis and learning that Charlee was a little thing, it became a little more realistic. However, this past weekend I was nervous that she would arrive simply because it would have been inconvenient.
1. My sister-in-law that will be my nurse, and actually deliver the baby, had a bachelorette party Friday night.
2. Danny worked Friday and Sunday.
3. My OB was out of town all weekend.
4. As of my 36 week appointment last Thursday, I am 2 cm dilated already. I realize this doesn't mean much, but on top of 1-3 and 5 it was just icing on the cake.
5. Storms were in the forecast for Friday night making all of this quite literally the perfect storm for labor to start.

The storm for Friday night fizzled out and I remained pregnant. I took Friday afternoon off work so I could rest before my solo-parenting weekend and when the first wave of rain came through, I was having contractions every 18-20 minutes. That was making me pretty nervous! But, here I am hoping we get the storms they are saying are possible tonight so I WILL go into labor haha.

My diabetes experience is going okay. My numbers have been elevated, but we've attributed that to being sick and I've just gotten kind of lax with the diet since I learned she most likely won't be the typical bigger diabetes baby. But, I've gotten my eating back under control and my numbers are looking better. Its mostly been because the Girl Scout cookies are gone but whatever. They've been higher this morning, but I also had to have a snack at 4 am. I don't know if this means things are happening or if I the extra oreo I had after dinner was a bad idea. Who knows.

I'm nearing the point where I'm ready to be done. Everything hurts, I'm not sleeping well (this is partially due to pregnancy, partially due to dog and kid), and I've 99% mentally checked out of work. Having 2 kids scares that absolute shit out of me, but I'll survive. I probably won't thrive, but I'll survive haha.

Hopefully this is my last update! I'm ready to meet this sweet girl!

Feb 22, 2017

36 weeks

I totally spaced this yesterday and at this point that could mean I miss doing a bumpdate. Not good!

Baby size: crenshaw melon? whatever that is.
Any symptoms?  still have heartburn. my back, hips, and pelvis hurt all the time.
Favorite part this week? Feeling "ready" at home
Least favorite part this week? Experiencing all of the emotion. Sometimes in 10 minutes.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle

I'm reaching the point where I'm ready to be done, but I'm not quite there. Other than it hurting to do practically anything, I feel pretty good. I'm not super exhausted and my blood pressure has been good. No swelling. I'm still wearing my wedding ring but take it off at night since my hands get a little bigger over night. I've only had a few contractions since the last episode so that's good. Nothing showing up on the NST.

There just isn't much going on at this point. The house is ready. Just need to wash bottles and pacifiers. Bags have been packed. Car seat base is installed. The freezer is stocked with meals. I even got some burritos made.

Work is still mostly ready. I keep having things come up as time goes on, but nothing too major. I have this fantasy of just checking out completely when Charlee gets here for a few weeks, but I just don't think that's realistic.

Danny thinks she'll be here within the next week. I honestly have no idea. I go back and forth between thinking she's going to be in there until closer to 38 weeks, if not 39, and thinking she's got to be running out of room like Tucker did since my uterus didn't change shape between pregnancies. I do know that she is very low and making her way towards the exit.

Tomorrow we have appointments all morning: growth ultrasound, NST and 36 week check up. Tomorrow is my LAST progesterone shot too. After that, who knows what will happen!

Feb 14, 2017

35 weeks

I hate that I am only posting on Tuesdays, but that's all I have the time and energy for these days. Plus I'm solo parenting until Saturday morning pretty much so I'm pretty tapped out already.

Baby size: honeydew melon
Any symptoms?  heartburn is back (thanks, Girl Scout cookies). things hurt. I'm exhausted. A few contractions.
Favorite part this week? Baby girl had a growth spurt!
Least favorite part this week? Not being able to get all the things done.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle

I am feeling like about 90%. Still hanging onto some congestion in my chest, but my head and nose are clear so the antibiotics and Mucinex are working. The Mucinex is also playing games with my sugar numbers, but that's to be expected.

Our appointment last Thursday went really well. Charlee has almost caught back up to where she is supposed to be. She was measuring just a week smaller than 34 weeks, so she isn't 3-4 weeks too small anymore. There was either a growth spurt or the original measurements a few weeks ago were wrong. Either way I am relieved! My suspicions of her starting to drop were also confirmed. The nurse could barely get to her head on the ultrasound to measure it. I've had a few contractions, but they only lasted for about an hour Sunday night. I was able to walk them off. Not sure if that's how you're supposed to do it, but I figured if they were still coming and going after doing the dishes and folding laundry then it was the real deal. It was not. The NST didn't show any yesterday either.

We took Tucker one on last fun outing as a family of 3 over the weekend: an indoor bounce house place plus lunch of his choice. He had a blast!

It may not have been our last weekend as a family of 3, but I am pretty sure its going to be the last weekend I feel like doing anything like that haha. Plus Danny and I are going to dinner for Valentine's Day this Saturday so it wasn't even an option.

Our house is pretty much baby ready. I still haven't made the burritos that I want to make or busy bags for Tucker. Maybe I'll do the bags tonight since my Valentine will be at a couple meetings tonight.

Feb 7, 2017

34 weeks

34 freaking weeks. How did I get here? These last few weeks have flown by just like I expected them too. I'm waiting on time to start dragging since I'm starting to get really uncomfortable but it hasn't yet.

Baby size: average cantaloupe. That's exactly what my app says.
Any symptoms?  still have the shitty immune system. everything from the boobs down still hurts. some cramping. really tired.
Favorite part this week? We have everything we need for her arrival. It's still sitting in bags, but we have it.
Least favorite part this week? being sick, again. Yes this is the same as last week.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle

Not much has changed. My NST and BPP on Thursday went pretty well. The nurse doing the BPP/ultrasound was concerned about my cervix and the possibility of me being in early preterm labor, but the NST didn't show any contractions so my OB wasn't concerned. The NST went well yesterday too. I've been feeling very crampy the last few days so I'm not sure how things will go this Thursday.

I also went to my family doctor yesterday for this sickness that I've had basically since the beginning on January. It did go away for about a week and a half, but came back with a vengeance last Monday. Saturday evening I was riding the struggle bus. My head was congested, my chest was congested, my head hurt from coughing, I couldn't keep my eyes open but also couldn't sleep. I was feeling so bad that I had to call my mother-in-law to see if she could keep Tucker for the night. I had probably overdone it shopping, which was just to Target, but staying home and solo parenting Tucker all day would have probably been more work honestly. Danny ordered me to call the doctor Monday morning and I didn't even put up a fight. They miraculously had an opening yesterday morning so I was able to get in. I was told I have bronchitis and sinusitis. He sent me home with a script for an antibiotic and told me to get regular Mucinex. I was hesitant to trust his knowledge on whether both meds were safe for me to take since this is the exchange we had.
Dr: Are you having any shortness of breath?
Me: Yes, but it's probably more pregnancy related than sickness related.
Dr: Oh you're pregnant?

Uhhhh, okay. I was sitting down, but still. I'll be setting up an appointment with a new doctor after this baby is born. I've been wanting too anyways, but this sealed the deal. I don't know if he's just oblivious, blind, or just that disconnected from his patients. None of those are okay with me so I'll be moving on.

Not much going on right now except for coughing.

Feb 1, 2017

33 weeks

I skipped the bumpdate yesterday because I was home sick. That's something I haven't talked about on here. I have been sick nonstop! I had the stomach flu TWICE in December and this is my second cold/virus. Tucker had a cold in the beginning on January and after coughing and breathing in my face for a couple days, I finally got ahold of it. I had to postpone a work trip because I was so full of snot. Then Monday as I was leaving my NST my throat started hurting. It literally came on while I was sitting in the chair. Thankfully Tylenol has been helping with the pain but I hate taking dose after dose. I felt horrible Monday night and my whole body was starting to ache so I decided to make Tuesday a rest day. I watched 10 episodes of Gilmore Girls and I drank 90 ounces of water so I'd say I did alright resting and hydrating. I excel at those two activities if given the opportunity.

Baby size: pineapple
Any symptoms?  everything from my boobs down hurts. my shitty immune system is also a symptom.
Favorite part this week? I'm really seeing the movements from this girl. This was my favorite part of being pregnant with Tucker so I'm really trying to enjoy the dance parties.
Least favorite part this week? being sick, again, and unable to take Dayquil and Nyquil.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!

My NST on Monday went well. The actual monitoring only takes 20 minutes but they schedule you for 60 in case your baby is being difficult, like mine. The poor nurse, which I know, had to sit on the floor and hold the monitor on my stomach the entire time because every time she let go it would move just enough that it wouldn't pick up Charlee's heartbeat. We had fun chatting though! My gestational diabetes is going well. I've had a few post meal reads that have been above the limit, but I haven't been told by the educator that I need to come back in or start insulin so I'd say I'm doing alright. She actually told me on Monday I don't need to send my numbers in again until February 7th, which is a lot longer than every 4 days like I was having to do.

It's crunch time in terms of baby prepping. Danny and I are both working at getting some meals put in the freezer. So far we have 9, which is 9 more than we had with Tucker haha. Danny is whipping up some chili that is just for the freezer and then making a double batch of beef and noodles today so we can eat tonight and freeze some for another night. I bought food to make burritos for lunches and a couple dinners. We ate a lot of take out after Tucker and I'm hoping to avoid eating take out for EVERY dinner this time around. We also have things to buy. Curtains, new nipples for bottles, blankets, recovery supplies for me, a new changing table pad, the rest of Tucker's gift from Charlee, and another monitor. We also need to do things like get the car seat and bases out and turn the crib back into a crib. I also need to pack my hospital bag and Tucker's bag for Danny's mom's house.

Time to cram 2 days worth of work into 1!

Jan 27, 2017

32 weeks!

I finally have a morning at work that allows for a bumpdate. Of all bumpdates to not be able to do, I wasn't able to do the one where I actually had things to share. I actually had the 30 weeks post written, I just never published it. I'm going to just move straight to the 32 week update and play catch up.

Baby size: large jicama.. whatever that is.
Any symptoms?  Heartburn has subsided and comes and goes. I've had quite a few leg cramps and round ligament pain so bad that it stops me in my tracks.
Favorite part this week? Since last Saturday, I've gotten 2 projects for her room done!
Least favorite part this week? Getting some not yet alarming news at the doctor yesterday
Boy or Girl? GIRL!

Alright, so when I left off, I was a few days from doing the 1 hour glucose test. I took it and failed, which meant doing the 3 hour test. It also showed slight anemia so I am taking iron pills for the remainder of my pregnancy. Back to the 3 hour test... That was horrible! First you have to fast for 12 hours, then they never tell you that the test is actually 4 hours long because they have to test your sugar when you get there to make sure you're okay enough to do the actual test. I would have felt an incredible amount of rage had I fasted for 13 hours (we were at 13 by the time I got Tucker and I out the door and at the lab) and unable to do it.  I felt so terrible after the drinking the drink and through the 2nd blood draw. I felt fine in the little bit leading up to the 3rd and the anticipation of leaving had me feeling pretty good for the 4th. I took the test on a Wednesday and found out at my next appointment that 2 of my 4 draws were elevated which meant I have gestational diabetes. The days between learning that and my appointment with the diabetes center were rough because I just didn't know what to eat. It was really challenging. After my 2 hour educational appointment, I felt so much better! I'm really loving the diet since I still get to eat things like bread, potatoes, and most importantly cereal. I even ate Chik-Fil-A within the guidelines and got full!

Yesterday we had a growth ultrasound. This originally wasn't in the plans, but I reminded my OB about the shape of my uterus and she felt like it was wise to do an ultrasound. Its a good thing we did. We learned that Charlee is on the small side. 3-4 weeks smaller than her gestational age. Everything else checked out, so there is nothing wrong other than she's just tiny. Because of that, I will do NSTs 2x/week and BPPs (biophysical profile) once a week to monitor her growth. If at any point she falls off the growth curve, she will need to come out. My OB isn't worried at this point so I'm going to try to not worry too.

In 2 weeks time I went from being at risk for having a large baby  to having a baby that might be too small to stay inside at the risk of her not growing.

Now for the fun stuff! Most of her room consists of DIY projects. Her dresser, wall décor, and bow holders. Her dresser is done and full of clothes! It belonged to my mom and dad, so Charlee will have a special dresser like Tucker does!

The bow and headband holders were fun to make too. And pretty easy! I can't wait to fill them up!

I finished up the décor for above her crib last night, but am waiting to take pictures until its on the wall. All I have left to buy for her room is curtains, some bins for the storage cubes in her closet, and something for over her dresser, then her room will be done!

It's been an eventful few weeks for this pregnancy, but thankfully nothing too bad.

29 Weeks!

Well time is just flying by now isn't it? I knew this would  happen once the holidays were over.

Baby size: butternut squash
Any symptoms?  Heartburn after every meal and it doesn't matter what I eat. I take about 3-4 Chewy Tums per day which happens to be the max amount. Everything from the waist down is starting to hurt.
Favorite part this week? Getting her room cleared out and ideas for decor
Least favorite part this week? Feeling crampy and bad after a couple of long days

We got LOTS done over the weekend! Friday morning Charlee's room got cleared out. I think it was Friday anyways. Her swing also got set up. This was no where on my radar until at least mid-February, but Tucker had other ideas. He asked if we could put his train table in the living room in the playroom (which is right next to the living room and practically the same room) and I told him that we couldn't because Charlee's swing would be going there. Well, 10 minutes later the swing was assembled and swinging with a baby doll in it. He even had to give it a try. Since he is about 15 pounds over the weight All of this baby prep will probably get done thanks to him. He was pissed that we couldn't paint the dresser last night. Taking the handles and knobs off and sanding the drawers was not enough.

All of the cleaning on Friday and shopping for dresser paint and shelves for Tucker's room led me to feeling pretty bad. I didn't even want to go shoe shopping. I just felt kind of dizzy, really crampy and just sick. I don't think it was my sushi lunch (it was all cooked!) since I've had the same sushi a couple different times this pregnancy. I think I just overdid it. I guess I'm at the point where things are physically difficult.

28 weeks!

Third. Trimester.

Now that Christmas is over, Charlee prepping has commenced. Her room already looks better because the holiday is over. It was Christmas Central up in there between presents, wrapping paper, and décor. That just means I need to find another solution for next year.

Onto the bumpdate.

Baby size: Chinese cabbage. Seriously, where does this app come up with these comparisons?
Any symptoms?  Heartburn. My hips had shooting pains in them yesterday. All the emotions. Round ligament pain.
Favorite part this week? Mama got to open some presents for Charlee
Least favorite part this week? Having the stomach flu AGAIN!
Boy or Girl? GIRL!

Friday morning shortly after breakfast I started feeling a little nauseous. No big deal. I just ate breakfast, had my progesterone shot about 14 hours prior, and it's just par for the course at this point that I feel like I'm going to throw up. I still scheduled a lunch date for my mom with Tucker and me since I wasn't working that day and didn't want to be cooped up in the house all day. Plus if it was just nausea I could eat through it and I would feel better. Buffalo Wild Wings was probably not the brightest choice, but if I can't eat B-dub's then we have a real issue. Well, we had an issue. I texted Danny's sister (Danny was at work until 5ish) to see if I could bring Tucker over when we got back into town until I either felt better or Danny got home. Thankfully she said yes because about 7 minutes I dropped him off, my 2nd round of the stomach flu this month began. I was miserable until about 5:30 the next day. It literally took me hours again to determine if I was sick or just nauseous.

The good news is it was short lived, but I am back to being just nauseous. I'll take it.

As for Charlee prepping... the first order of business is to get a few projects around the house done.
1. Some DIY photo ledges that I talked about last April. I've had the materials since early 2016. Danny is taking them to work on Friday so that he can cut the boards down and I can start staining soon.
2. Get the mudroom into a high functioning state. We hung the coat rack yesterday and I'll be on the hunt for command center materials this week.
3. Finish moving Tucker's décor to his new room. I took his curtains down the other day, but he has a picture and some tractors left in his old room. I decided we need shelves for his room to display his tractors. Danny decided I won't be happy until we have a house made of shelves.

Once those 3 things are done, which I'm hoping will be over this stretch of days off for Danny or the next stretch, it's time to get Charlee's room done. Which includes refinishing a dresser. That is still in my brother's barn. And I only have a vague idea of what I want to do. It's fine. If she's like her brother she will arrive in less than 2 months, but its fine.

Tomorrow I will recap our 4 Christmases we had over the weekend.

Dec 21, 2016

Weekend Recap + 27 weeks!

The last few days at work have been pretty busy playing catch up. The phones have been quiet, so I've been taking advantage of getting caught up on things I've been letting slide.

Friday was a really relaxed night. Tucker fell asleep on the way home from my mother-in-laws (its a 4 minute drive) and was snoring. I got him in the house, put a pull up on him and he slept until 5:30 Saturday morning. I got 5 free hours to myself that night. It was strange. I talked my brother into picking up Chinese for me too. I was thisclose to calling my newly licensed 16 year old nephew. Desperation is what you call that.

Saturday was of course an early day. We made cookies and a Christmas tree out of a paper plate. Again, I am certain I chose correctly when I didn't go into the education field.

Danny got home and we left soon after to drop Tucker off at my mom's so they could have a sleepover and we could finish our shopping for the boy. Target. Was. Packed! Seriously, parking lot was full all the way to the back. By some miracle we got a spot right in the first row. Danny only glared at a few people during our short trip so I call it a win. After a yummy (and fat) dinner at Chili's we headed home. I made my nephews' Christmas gifts. They are 16 and 13 so money is the most wanted gift. I don't like to just give them cash though. Last year I did money mazes that I found on Amazon. This year I did money trees and I love how they turned out.

I started a new tradition this year after a cousin shared a picture of my dad on Facebook. This time of year he would tip big for pizza delivery guys. Like order 1 or 2 pizzas, give them a $100 bill and tell them to keep the change. A bartender in town commented on the picture and said she didn't see him often but when she did it was always around Christmas and he would do what I just explained. I had no idea this was something he did throughout town. And I love it. That was my dad. He was very quiet when he did things like that. I've decided that every Christmas season, I am going to do the same thing and it was the Chili's waitress's lucky night. It felt really good.

I was up early on Sunday despite the human alarm clock being gone. I watched Gilmore Girls, wrapped some presents, ate 1st breakfast, and wrapped more presents. Danny and I went to breakfast before he headed down to get the child. Once they were home we lounged, made our desserts, and headed to Danny's mom's for Christmas with her. Tucker was a grouch so Danny's grandpa started messing with him. It's so nice to watch the 2 of them interact. Danny's grandpa just turned 92 in October so every holiday with him is extra special.

Now for the bumpdate!

Baby size: cauliflower
Any symptoms?  Heartburn after every single meal. I don't care what it is. Sore back. Tired. Nausea was back but is giving me a break so that's wonderful!
Favorite part this week? I can SEE her kicking and moving. Same as last week but still just as awesome!
Least favorite part this week? I've been kind of emotional.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle. Or Chuck as Tucker likes to call her.

It's been a pretty calm week pregnancy wise. I have an appointment with my OB in an hour. I could tell she was on the verge of talking to me about my weight gain last appointment, but since it was the day before Thanksgiving I think she held off. I have a feeling I'll get lectured today. And I deserve it. I have been eating very badly and have not been exercising the way I had planned on. This pregnancy has been much more difficult emotions wise than with Tucker, so I've been focused more on that. Having a toddler that wakes up at least once per night and a dog that does the same but at a different time has also led to broken sleep, so the energy needed to function and exercise just isn't there. I will say the lack of exercise and eating right has me pretty motivated to get it together once Charlee is here and we get our bearings. I am planning on cleaning my eating up a bit after the holidays, whether I get told too or not.

Now, I am off to my appointment then to a lunch Christmas party with the agency I sell insurance for but don't own.

Weekend Recap + 26 Weeks

Two posts in one due to a random stomach bug invading my body on Sunday. I. Felt. Horrible! All day long. And felt bad yesterday until about bedtime.

This weekend was pretty busy. Friday night we had our nieces' and nephew's Christmas program. Tucker fell asleep in the middle of it and peed on my lap a little bit, so we left early. Poor kid was that tired and bored. After every song he asked if they were going to sing more haha. I'm very interested to see how he handles his own Christmas programs starting next year. He slept through leaving, getting in the truck, getting out of the truck, and getting a pull-up put on him. With a  brief wake up that snuggles from Daddy fixed, he slept until 6:15 the next morning. Danny prepped his chili for our party and I relaxed since I knew Saturday would be rough on my pregnant self.

Saturday was our busy day. We headed out pretty early to finish up Egg Nog Extravaganza shopping. We were going to hit up Hobby Lobby and the grocery store, but I decided to give Meijer a shot and see if I could get both stops done in one. I was successful and thankful I went there since I found this beautiful skirt.

It was a little snug but still a perfect piece of clothing for our annual Christmas party. I'll be wearing it again next year.

Tucker and I went to my great aunt's to visit with family and eat. And since it is the month that Tucker opens presents every week, he got his birthday present from my aunt and uncle. Their children are grown and they don't have any grandchildren in the near future (well, planned ones anyways) so they LOVE when they get the opportunity to shop for Tucker. And since they have 2 girls, my uncle jumps at the chance to play with "boy" toys.

We left the gathering and Tucker left to go to a basketball game and his mamaw's with the babysitter and his cousins. Then it was party time! This sign was also purchased at Meijer and perfect for our party.

It never got rowdy, which is how I like it haha. I ate way too much and stayed up way too late. I also made too much food. But, a group that showed up went to dinner before so I blame them.

Aren't our matching ties cute?

Sunday was my sick day. I was on the couch, in bed, or in the recliner, with the exception of when I had to pee and get sick, from 7am-8pm. It wasn't until 4pm that I determined I was sick sick and not just pregnancy sick. Its hard to tell these days.

Now for the bumpdate: 26 freaking weeks. Unbelievable. If she is like her brother, I have 10 weeks left. 10 WEEKS! And her room looks like this.

Baby size: hothouse cucumber... now what that is, I have no idea.
Any symptoms?  Nausea is here again. Heartburn is here. My whole body is sore all the time. I get out of breath easily.
Favorite part this week? I can SEE her kicking and moving.
Least favorite part this week? Being sick
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? Charlee Danielle. Or Chuck as Tucker likes to call her.

As I've mentioned I was sick with a  stomach bug on Sunday and yesterday. I was able to keep water down the entire time, but never able to eat. With pregnancy nausea I can usually force myself to eat because lack of food is either the cause or it will help. That wasn't happening on Sunday. In the time I was awake I had a dinner roll, an apple, a bagel, and 5 bites of pasta. That's not much for me who eats like 5 meals a day. Yesterday I was able to eat more, but it was mostly bread or pasta still. Today I was able to eat an egg sandwich and drink some coffee, so I am on the upswing. Charlee has been moving around like normal the entire time since I started getting sick on Sunday so I've known she was okay and never got worried about her.

Not much else is happening right now. Just trying to get through this week since I have a class tomorrow and meetings the next 2 days. Our first Christmas celebration is on Sunday. I still have one more 2 more gifts to put together and wrapping to do. It'll be fine.

Dec 6, 2016

25 Weeks

Well this last week flew by! I swear I'm going to blink and December will be over.

Baby size: rutabaga
Any symptoms?  nausea is back more often than not. sore back, sore boobs, sore everything. heartburn. pregnancy brain has been awesome.
Favorite part this week? The kicks and movements are getting stronger by the day. We decided on her name!
Least favorite part this week? the nausea being back
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? And her name is.... Charlee Danielle.

Deciding on her name was most certainly the highlight of the week. In the beginning of November we started out with a list of 4 names: Lexi, Aubrey, Charlee, and Hadley. Hadley quickly got removed because it just didn't feel like it fit. Its a beautiful name, just not for us. Danny never loved Aubrey like I did, but I kept testing it and saying it for another week or so. We both finally decided it was really just down to Lexi and Charlee since the night we made the list. We were STUCK and loved them both equally. We realized there wasn't any real rush other than we wanted to start calling her by her name and not just baby or whatever name we were testing that day. We tested Charlee for a week or two then moved onto Lexi. I used Lexi in one sentence and the look on Danny's face said Charlee was her name haha. I've loved it ever since Danny suggested it because it surprised me. I've always been a fan of it but never mentioned it because it didn't seem like the kind of name he would like. I felt very strongly about using the name Daniel or Danielle from basically the moment we had Tucker's name picked out. It's too convenient that my husband and dad share the same first name and using that name now is even more special since my dad isn't here. Our families love it and more importantly, we love it.

Tucker is also calling her Chuck sometimes. How he knows that Chuck is short for Charles/Charlie is beyond me, but he randomly called her Chuck. Danny's mom thinks its from Charlie Brown but I've never watched a Charlie Brown with him so maybe she has.

Danny gave me my first shot last week. For someone that's been wanting to stick a needle in me for the last 5 years he sure was nervous! He did a pretty good job and I'll let him keep doing it. I'm starting to experience some of the side effects of Makena. Mostly just itching and swelling in my right butt cheek. The left has been alright throughout so I'll be getting the next couple on that side.

Finally, I ordered the cutest little cow outfit for her about a month ago and it arrived yesterday. I loooove it and Tucker was pretty excited about it too!
