22 weeks!

I didn't do a bumpdate post last week due to my schedule being so busy. Tuesday was the day that my car battery died on me twice so that took a total of 3 hours of my time. Oh well! I'm in that beautiful window of time where there really isn't much going on anyway. My weight gain has slowed (thank you, Jesus) and the bump is just growing too. I'm not sure I would say I have more energy, but I do feel a bit more like myself these days.

Baby size: spaghetti squash
Any symptoms?  heartburn, pregnancy brain, sore boobs, headaches. My hands have started swelling. Riding in the car for anything more than 40ish minutes causes me to have to take my wedding ring off. Walking for 15 minutes also does the same. My back is killing me so that's fun.
Favorite part this week? Buying Baby Goofy all the clothes. Seriously.
Least favorite part this week? the back pain.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? We have a short list people and are testing them in everyday conversation! Sunday night Danny was all about talking names so I took advantage of it and we have a list of 3 potential first names.

As I mentioned, not much is happening right now. I'm slowly prepping. I've gone through Tucker's totes of clothes and pulled out what could be used for a girl. I found a pair of little camo pants that I think will look adorable with a pink or light yellow onesie. Of course all the firefighter pj's will be used and a few firefighter shirts too.

I also bought sheets for her mattress.  I'm not going to get too ambitious when it comes to decorating her room. We are in deep discussions about moving (just houses, not towns) and it would happen in the spring shortly after Baby Goofy arrives. Because of that, I'm just going to redo a dresser for her like I did Tucker and that might be it. I'll put stuff on the walls in the new house if we end up moving.

Progesterone shots are still going well.  I only have to go in for 2 more and then they can be done at home! One of the two left to do at the doctor is at the same time as my next appointment so I'll be there anyways.

That's all for this week!

Weekend Recap - Frankenmuth

Hi! I wasn't around last week. My mornings at work were busy. Definitely a good busy though! Except for the dead battery in a city 30 minutes away. It was even more busy since I was leaving for the weekend.

Friday morning I took off with Danny's mom and sister for our annual shopping weekend in Frankenmuth, Michigan. This was our 6th trip and my second being pregnant. This trip was much easier to handle than the last pregnant trip since I was 32 weeks pregnant on that one. Once we arrived in Frankenmuth/Birch Run, we stopped at the outlet mall first. We got our coupon books and hit a couple of stores. I don't think we bought anything during this couple of hours, which is unusual. We loaded up to go back to the hotel to eat dinner and have a couple of drinks before heading to Bronners. The bartender made me a Shirley Temple.

After drinking lemon-lime seltzer water for a year, Sierra Mist and Sprite are way too sweet! My main goal for Bronner's was an Elf on the Shelf. Tucker will be 3 in a few weeks so I think he'll have fun with it. I'm excited to see if I can pull this off every night!

Saturday was the big shopping day. We hit the outlet mall around 9:15 for the early bird special at Wilson Leather. I scored this awesome purse and a light grey wallet for $45 total. Its my favorite purchase for myself of the weekend.

With my stockpiled Old Navy rewards, I managed to get $315 worth of clothes for $50. All nieces and nephews got their clothes gift, I got a few transitional shirts for after Baby Goofy arrives, Danny got a 3/4 zip sweater (they are his fave) and Baby Goofy got some clothes. Tucker didn't get anything because a package from ON arrived for him last Tuesday with fall/winter clothes. Baby Goofy obviously got the most clothes this weekend. These little numbers being the cutest.

We are going to Orange Beach next October and she'll need bathing suits! I got each of these for about $6. Much cheaper than the $15-20 I would have to pay if I waited until summer to get them! I lost my credit card for a brief period of time. It was missing for approximately 5 hours before I noticed. About 3 minutes after I canceled it, we remembered my purse dumped over and it could easily be under the seat it the van. And it was.

Sunday we hit up the last section of the outlet mall that we needed. I got 6 shirts and 2 pairs of yoga pants from the maternity store. I am set on shirts to get me through the rest of this pregnancy I think. I MIGHT need another pair of pants, but I might be able to get by without.  Since my bump arrived much sooner this time, I have needed more clothes.  Plus I am going to be pregnant during more of the cold months this time. After a quick lunch we hit the road to go home. We got home around 6:30 and I was so excited to see my guys!

Now, the rest of my shopping will be done from the comfort of my desk chair!

20 Weeks

How did this "halfway point" get here so fast? I put that in ""'s because I'm betting on baby girl arriving at least a couple of weeks early. The fact that I am 20 weeks today is blowing my mind and reality is setting in that I need to get started on prepping for this baby sooner rather than later.

Baby size: small cantaloupe
Any symptoms?  Heartburn is here. My back is really starting to not handle being on my feet a lot, but that may be due to poor footwear choices. Those are the biggest pains. Of course Danny's biggest pain is the pregnancy brain but that's another post for another day.
Favorite part this week? finding out that Baby Goofy is a girl!
Least favorite part this week? swelling in the car Friday and then having to pee 3 times in the middle of the night from drinking water to help the swelling was not fun.
Boy or Girl? GIRL!
Names? So far I've found 2 or 3 that Danny is a fan of. I've rattled off no less than 100 names since Thursday. We'll come up with one sooner or later.

I have exercised a great amount of restraint over the last 5 days. Kohl's sent me a nice $15 reward this morning and some Carter's sets were on sale. As I was perusing the website trying to make my selections, I felt a kick. She's gonna be a shopper like her mama! The site wouldn't let me place my order so that's my first order of business once I'm done with this. Which is funny since I just told Danny on Saturday that I was trying to wait until my Michigan trip, which is next weekend, to start buying for her. I'm a big fat liar.

That's pretty much it. No real appointments until November 23rd, just progesterone shots on Thursdays until then.

Weekend Recap

We had a pretty great weekend... for the most part. It is very obvious that age 3 is near. We are dealing with some major emotion from our little guy and it is a hell of a time for me to not be able to drink. Had I not been pregnant and Cracker Barrel had a cocktail menu, I would have had one yesterday. Its hard to imagine this cheesy smile screaming at the top of his lungs as your carry him out of a restaurant.

Let's get to the good stuff...

Friday: I left work after our last event of the month to eat lunch and pack so we could head out of town for the night. We picked Tucker up around 2 and made our way to Evansville. On the way down, we mentioned going to a mall just to kill time once we arrived and Tucker associated that with "a cookie place and riding animals" like he does at one of the malls he goes to with my mother-in-law. After some Googling and hoping and praying, we learned that this mall did in fact have animals he could ride. I pulled the pregnancy card and told Danny this one was on him.

I think he enjoyed riding around on this thing for 10 minutes.

After dinner and perusing Gymboree to satisfy my desire to shop for this baby girl, we headed to my aunt's house where we were staying for the night. Tucker got a couple of surprises and threw a fit about not being able to open all the drawers and cabinets in someone else's house before we headed to bed.

Saturday morning we woke up and visited with my aunt and uncle. They are empty nesters with no signs of grandchildren in the near future, so they enjoyed having a small child running around for an hour or so. After breakfast it was time to head to Paw Patrol! Tucker didn't really get it until the show started, but once he saw the stage with the Paw Patrol logo he was so excited.

Coming down from a sugar high and seeing your favorite characters on stage is rough.

We met my aunt and uncle for lunch and some play time at a nearby park before heading home.

Sunday we went to church and breakfast. This kid asked me to take a picture of him on the way to breakfast. "Push the cheesey button mom!"

This can pretty much sum up the rest of our day.

And Baby Goofy is....

A GIRL!!!

Our ultrasound and check up with my OB was scheduled for yesterday at 11am. We had to wait 20 minutes past that to be called back because the machine wasn't working correctly! I spent the 20 minutes telling Danny he could not beg the ultrasound tech to tell him the sex while simultaneously trying to not pee my pants since I needed a full bladder. Mind you I had just peed 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. We finally got called back and got through half of the ultrasound and the machine FROZE! Thankfully she knew the sex so we didn't have to cancel the party.  We were able to finish getting the images she needed and baby looks great! The placenta has moved as well so I am off of pelvic rest. I've already resumed laundry duties.

We had 5 hours to kill between the end of our appointments and the big reveal. We grabbed lunch, delivered the sealed envelope to Danny's sister who was the keeper of the secret and headed out to do some shoe shopping for Danny and other errands. I warned him he needed to buy things he needed now since I would be spending all of his monies if the baby was a girl.

5:30 quickly arrived and our house filled with our family and closest friends. Danny's mom arrived with a  not-so-happy Tucker, but once he realized we were getting balloons, his friends were there and we could eat cupcakes he turned his attitude around.

Everyone headed outside, called my brother and sister-in-law to figure out where they were since the party started at 5:30 and it was 5:34 haha. Its acceptable to be 10-15 minutes late to family dinner or a holiday, but not this. This was big stuff!

Danny's sister didn't trust Danny, so she got a little tricky with the balloons. She put pink and blue, along with a  couple of white, in the box. The balloons representing the baby's sex would stay in the box while the other color (and white) flew away. We opened the box and first out were blue, leaving most guests speechless since they didn't know what was actually going on and thought we were having another boy. My sister-in-law actually started fake cheering since no one was clapping or cheering and she felt bad haha. A couple people thought since they saw pink and blue we were having twins! No way Jose!

When the pink balloons were the only ones remaining, everyone screamed and clapped! Danny's worry of showing obvious disappointment was gone as he has wanted a little girl the whole time. I had a gut feeling the whole time that it was a girl, but no real dreams to confirm my feelings like I did with Tucker, other than the blue balloon dream. Danny and I looked at each other and said "We can be done now!" Now whether or not that's true will be determined at a later date.

We are so excited to add a little girl to our family! Within an hour I was given my restrictions on how much money I'm allowed to spend per week. He was generous with his dollar amount so I think I can make it work!

Aunt Dee is relieved that its a girl because she thinks we are done. She says she can't handle another pregnancy haha!

Oh, and baby girl's name still remains Baby Goofy.
